Which is Better: Viagra or Cialis

Erectile Dysfunction
Erectile dysfunction can be a plague and a nuisance for any man, often putting strain on intimate relationships and self-esteem. While difficulty getting or maintaining an erection may be common symptoms, they should never be swept under the it-happens-to-every-man rug.
There is a plethora of information and medications available, but we’re going to break down the two most common FDA approved medications to treat erectile dysfunction: Viagra and Cialis
Treatment
Viagra and Cialis both work as phosphodiesterase inhibitors by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, effectively helping cause and sustain an erection. It is important to understand that neither medication increases sexual desire, so if you’re not looking for a public display of erection, there’s no need to fret.
Although Viagra and Cialis treat erectile dysfunction similarly, they are different drugs with different doses and suitable for two separate treatment and lifestyle avenues. Which is the right medication for you? Let’s look at the facts.
Viagra
Also available under its generic form Sildenafil, Viagra is sold as an as-needed treatment option for erectile dysfunction, with its effects lasting up to five hours. A single dose best taken one hour prior to any sexual activity, and never taken more than once in a 24-hour time period.
In addition to time sensitivity, studies have shown that while Viagra may be taken with or without food, it is recommended to avoid a high-fat meal as it may delay the effects of the medication.
Some side-effects have been reported during the use of Viagra, including headache, heartburn, diarrhea, skin flush, nosebleeds, difficulty falling or staying asleep, changes in vision and hearing, and prolonged erection.
Cialis
Cialis is also available in the generic form, Tadalafil, and is sold as a daily medication for erectile dysfunction, unlike Viagra. Commonly referred to as the “weekend pill,” Cialis allows for spontaneous sex no matter the time of day or day of the week through a standard, 30-day supply.
A Cialis subscription for 5mg daily tablets is a popular option for dosage. The prescription can be modified, however, as men can require different strengths. Beyond the 5mg option, 2.5mg and 10mg prescriptions exist and are common alternatives.
As mentioned, Cialis is meant to be taken once daily with or without food and is best taken at the same time each day, avoiding two doses in a 24-hour period. If a missed dose of the medication occurs, take the next dose as soon as you remember.
Reported side-effects of Cialis include headache, heartburn, diarrhea, nausea, cough, skin flush, pain in stomach, back, arms and legs.
